Shipping policy
Alva partners with UPS and USPs as our primary carriers for standard shipping. However, for larger items like furniture that exceed ground size and weight requirements, we use a variety of major freight delivery carriers.
Please note that special handling and oversize charges may apply and are based on the total value of your order and the size, shape, or weight of the items being purchased. All orders received over $400.00 may require a signature upon delivery.
Please be aware that items will be dropped at the front door, and additional services such as in-home placement or assembly are not included.
Please be aware that certain items may not be eligible for Standard Plus shipping, including but not limited to art, lamps, mirrors, furniture, bean bags, certain accessories, any item with a length, width, height, or girth greater than 24”, or any item that requires a delivery surcharge. If your order contains any restricted items, we will contact you, and the shipping of your order may be delayed.
Please note that it is your responsibility to measure to ensure that the items purchased will fit through all doorways, halls, stairwells, elevators, or any other passageways. If you have any questions or concerns about measuring, please view our guidelines on measuring for proper fit of any furniture. None of the delivery services we offer provide a hosting service.
If you purchase items through Direct Ship, they will be shipped separately, directly to you. "Curbside" or "Threshold" Freight Delivery may be used for some larger items. Please note that Direct Ship orders cannot be picked up in any of our store locations, warehouse facilities, or satellite warehouses. Special handling, oversize charges, and separate shipping charges may apply, and return shipping charges will be deducted from all direct ship purchases.
Please note that made-to-order and direct ship purchases are not in stock and will ship on the quoted delivery dates. Combining made-to-order items with merchandise that is in stock may cause a delay in the shipping of the order until all items have arrived and are available for shipping.
If an item is temporarily out-of-stock, we will contact you as soon as possible by phone or email. You will have the choice to keep the order as placed, adjust it to exclude the out-of-stock item, or cancel the order. Total shipping and handling charges will be adjusted and charged as merchandise is shipped, and combining in-stock and out-of-stock items in your order may cause a delay in the shipping of your order until all items have arrived. Please note that total shipping and handling charges will not increase for split orders of accessory items.
